I created this painting for 100 Discs & 100 Years – A Centennial Art Show, a show of St. Petersburg, Florida themed artwork curated by Amy Marshall. It was displayed at the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club and sold opening night.
The show’s theme set out to represent and celebrate the centennial of the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club and all the artists were given shuffleboard discs to paint, sculpt on, or adorn as they saw fit.
My concept used the Florida state birds, mockingbirds, sitting on bamboo branches that form the shape of a shuffleboard.
